Stuart Marks, Director (MTAC)

Stuart has been working in the mental health industry for more than 20 years. During this time he has working in a number of roles, giving him an extensive understanding of the industry and its many facets. Parallel with this, he has invested more than a decade in developing his interests in martial arts and self-defence giving him well-honed skills in teaching and coaching students in these areas.
Stuart is currently based in Nelson, but provides services nationwide by arrangement.

Registered Nurse (New Zealand Nursing Council)
20 years of experience in mental health nursing.
- PG Cert. Advanced Nursing (Mental Health).
- Has nursed in mental health Inpatient Intensive Care, Acute, Sub-acute, and Rehabilitative Wards.
- Has worked as a Manager, a Health Educator, and as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
- Restraint Instructor in tertiary level Mental Health Services (2003 - 2018).
- Black Belt (1st Degree) in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
- Principal Instructor for myBJJ New Zealand.
- Member of the myBrazilian Jiu-Jitsu International Association.
- Certified with the Australian Federation of Brasilian Jiu-Jitsu (AFBJJ).
- Certified with the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF)
